Congratulations to JenOrek for two fantastic tournaments that gave him both first and second place in the newest top scores edition cashing from both tournaments more than $26,000. Nice score, nice score! As we always do with our stars, we asked JenOrek a few questions about his performance. Without further ado, let's jump into the interview.
What was your mindset when you started a Heads-up in Turbo Series?
We decided to make a deal before proceeding to heads-up, so I didn't have any expectations. We played for $750, but the truth is that after such win, that money doesn't make any significant difference.
What was the most memorable hand of the tournament?
I had two identical spots that will remain in my memory for a long time. It was 30, and 15 players left. Jacks vs. Queens in both situations, my tournament life was at stake. The result is obvious. When I won with Jack first, I thought that this is my tournament, and only winning a second time, the same spot made me know it for sure.
How do you prepare for the session? Do you have any rituals, favorite playlists, exercises?
I prepare for a session brewing a coffee and spending time with my 3-months old daughter. I don't have time for anything else. During the session, I listen to my Spotify playlist. Mainly Polish classics like Raz Dwa Trzy, Wodecki, or music from "Metro." Breaks I use to spend some time with my daughter :)
What is, in your opinion, the most crucial mindset aspect when working on the game?
From all the aspects, I think the most important is keeping focus during the sessions, especially when running deep.
If you could tell something to young JenOrek, who just started his poker career, what would you say?
I would told him to focus more on game theory instead of practice!
Thanks, JenOrek for the interview! Good luck on the tables!
